Definition of App Scale

App Scale is an open source platform as service (PaaS) framework, which enables development and hosting of Google App Engine based applications. It is an open source implementation of the Google App Engine but provides much more robustness and scalability than Google’s SDK. It’s framework executes a guest virtual machine over existing virtualization infrastructure and supports Amazon EC2, Eucalyptus, XEN and KVM based virtualization environments

Brief Description of App Scale

App Scale is an open-source PaaS service similar to Google App Engine, which enables the users to develop, test, deploy and host their application in a similar environment as Google App Engine provides. It supports all cloud and virtualized environments.  App Controller, one of its core component e, manages load balancing, resource monitoring and infrastructure management in cloud and virtualization. All the applications are executed via the App Server and support various database. It supports applications in various programming languages including Java, Python and GO.
